Rebekah A. Race was appointed Executive Director of Westminster Manor in 2012.
Rebekah fell in love with senior care when she was presented with a volunteer opportunity in a Long-Term- Care facility while attending elementary school. The ability to bring a smile to the face of a senior citizen and make a difference in their life inspired Rebekah to continue volunteering with the aged population until she graduated from high school. She went on to obtain her undergraduate degree from SUNY Potsdam, where she received her B.A. in Psychology and Human Services, specializing in Gerontology.
After graduating from college, Rebekah secured a position working with seniors in Florida. During this time she was the recipient of the “Pinnacle Award” for the 5 county Area Agency on Aging of West Palm Beach, FL. This award is given for accomplishments, special achievements, and demonstration of commitment to the care of seniors.
This experience gave Rebekah a deep appreciation for seniors. She has been a life long advocate for the frail elderly and other vulnerable populations.
Ms. Race currently serves on the Board of Directors of NYSCAL. This is a member-driven association of providers of long term care services, caring for individuals of all ages in proprietary, not-for- profit, and government-sponsored skilled nursing, post-acute, rehab, adult care and assisted living communities across the state of New York.
Rebekah is honored to work with dedicated and caring, staff that works together to further the mission of Westminster Manor. Race stated, “Each resident becomes an extension of our family and is treated with dignity and respect. We pride ourselves in helping every individual maintain their independence”.
Westminster Manor is an adult home located in the historic district on 81 South in Auburn, NY.
